Ancient writings.

Carlos Beltrán, a student of Archeology of the University San Carlos –Guatemala- discovered http://www.elmundo.es/elmundo/2006/01/05/ciencia/1136484453.html in April of the 2005, a vertical column of 10 hyeroglyphs (symbolic or ideographic writing), printed with black ink, in the surface of a rock of plaster, to the interior of an old Mayan temple in San Bartolo (Place: Las Pinturas. Dept of Peten. Guatemala). With the aid of William Saturn -University of New Hampshire- the find was dated around 300-200 years b.C. –Pre Classic Maya Period, equalizing the age of similar finds of the Olmec and Zapotec cultures. Nevertheless, the first isolated ideograms belong to the Olmec culture (650 years b.C.). Saturn http://sciencenow.sciencemag.org/cgi/content/full/2006/106/2 assures that one of the 10 Mayan ideograms represents to God or maya leader :AJAW. Lacking to decipher the 50% of the remaining hyerogliphs, is reached to distinguish also a hand and a brush. In the Mayan culture case (4500 years b.C.-1500 years a.C.), it seems that the identifying writing, was own creation.

What worries me of these investigations is that the signatories are always from archaeologists and at times from linguists. For us, it is a fertile land for evolutionary neurologists, logics and psychologists. All of them must be called to the final analisis of these works. Imagine: Convert an idea to a symbol, to unite the symbols and, finally to build a structure (writing), reflecting ideas and concepts ¿is not this, like the structure of a luck of logic and rational thought? Here, what is important is the mental journey, the cognitive effort to representing our ideas in a stable and coherent way, the secondary thing is the graphic registration of the writing. I sense that certain analogy must exist among the gradual learning of the writing of a child with that of these civilizations of the past. That is to say, to more advanced writing, more advanced logic thought, more culture, more mind evolution.
