Vaccines against cancer.

In two previous articles :See Ciencia -Peruvian Health in debate-11/13/05 and -New vaccines for Peru-11/15/05, we emphasize the need to expand the Peruvian cover of vaccinations, as one of the best and efficient media to protect our health. It is necessary to manufacture vaccines against germs (parasites, bacteria, virus), fully identified and incorporate them to the programs of health that our country offers preventively. The massive vaccinations, must have a growing role in the preventive-sanitary programs of health of our country and of others with characteristic similar to ours. In Peru, the present offering of vaccinations is little diverse, traditional and or scarce. The matter deserves a constructive critic, because -included inside the countries called “in process of development”, we continue being hounded to national level, by endemo-epidemic infestations-infections diseases (malaria, bartonelosis, etc), easy to prevent and to control developing vaccines.

We lack vaccines against a series of affections that originate diarrheas in the summer, against Helycobacter pilorii, against certain types of hepatitis, against the virus of Epstein-Barr, against as much as viral affection hound us, including common flu and endemo-seasonal respiratory affections, etc., not included even in our national programs of health. As we know, more than the shortage of know-how or infrastructure, the theme of massificacion of the vaccinations, depends in last instance of political decisions. The theme imports because in the developed countries, where the infections have been controlled, the system of vaccinations has not diminished. http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/story/0,,1693601,00.html On the contrary the vision has been expanded and now is vaccinated preventively against certain types of cancer. Successful campaigns of vaccination have diminished the liver cancer in Taiwan. Here, http://www.fihu-diagnostico.org.pe/revista/numeros/2001/novdic01/306-317.html in Peru: the Doctor Andres Solidoro, has shown a strong connection between virus and generation of certain type of lymphomas in young Peruvian populations. In England they are preparing for masive vaccination against the cancer of cervix, etc. Meanwhile vaccines against leukemias and lung cancer, are prepared, One must recall that in matter of vaccinations the inversion is little and the benefits immense.
