Taking care of peruvian enviromment.

An important subject in our economy -and of much controversy- constitute certain foreign investments (mining and gas), by the negative effects that the elimination (emission), of their by-products (waste), to the enviromment, produce. Reviewing the http://www.nytimes.com/2006/03/20/national/20spill.html?_r=1&oref=slogin NewYorkTimes, of yesterday, we found out the tribulations of BP Explorer Company, Alaska, whose extensive pipeline and main wells despite being reviewed between 39 000 to 60 000 times a year -throughout all its extension- undergoes several breaks because of the internal and external corrosion, receiving for that reason, all type of denunciations and recrimination on the part of the press and adverse trials with important payments to the state government and federal american regulators organisms. To this company the state organisms demand external and internal revisions (with ultrasound and internal devices), of the pipeline and a constant maintenance of the duct. By the way, has the revisions of the Peruvian gas-duct (that in less than 2 years, have undergone 5 breakage already, including 5 burned people), been made with ultrasound? ¿how many revisions a year make the transporting company of the Peruvian gas-duct? ¿will already the argentinian transporter company have paid the fines that the Peruvian Osinerg (Peruvian state regulator organism), has imposed to them?.Linked to the anterior is the sell of the peruvian gas to Chile. Yesterday http://english.pravda.ru/russia/economics/22-03-2006/77669-china-0 Russia sold gas to Rusia. We must follow this example, because it will be a good business and will improve our relation con Chile.

The other aspect has to do with the wastes of the mining, spilled generally to rivers and near seas. The dangerous deposit takers are mostly the rivers because they kill fishes, cattle and makes unusable extensive territories of agriculture. Fortunately and by force of as much reclamation little by little decontaminant structures are settling. For that reasons, I was satisfied reading yesterday through the newspaper La Republica, about certain simple technic developed by a Peruvian engineer in order to resist the acid effects of waste mining using lime, settling wastes and spilling the clean and clear water of the superior part of the deposits and then to the rivers. With this technique the agricultural fields have returned to turn green again and to produce. It concerns, because the foreign investment must be welcome. Nobody is against these. Despite it, and at the same time it must exist on the part of the Peruvian state, a severe fervor so that the enviromment -of which people, animals and vegetables depend-, will not be affected mortally.
