MARS IMAGES 2008

After contemplating images of the Martian surface (Victoria Crater ¿covered by alive lichens?), taken by mobile robotic vehicles (Opportunity) of NASA, we feel some surprise, although more disappointment. It happens that the images are so similar to terrestrial equivalents..... So why endanger human lives by sending manned missions, if the things to be discovered are not so strange?. As if this were not enough, NASA's Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter has discovered vast martian glaciers of ice hidden under protective sheets of rock, similar to glacial ice in Antarctica.

There are so many risks for human beings in this kind of trips: human body damage, genetic damage, bad weather, and so on. It is clear then that extraterrestrial explorations should be fully robotic. Only when Mars and other planets will be completely terraformed should we proceed to inhabit these planets. Existen tantos riesgos humanos: fragilidad corporal, daño genetico, clima inadecuado, etc.
