ARTIFICIAL GENETIC CODE

Researchers of the Scripps Research Institute, led by the biochemical Reza Ghadiri, have built a molecule (tPNA:thioester of nucleic acids), capable of induce the formation of codes of information similar to current genetic-biological. Mixed in water to environmental temperature with unique chains of DNA or RNA, tPNA molecules develop complementary chains spontaneously, completing double helixes, not requiring enzymes, sugars, phosphates or enhancers molecules of chemical reactions, opening the possibility toward the creation of alternating human biologies. Although tPNA, doesn't still achieve self-autoreplication capacity, points toward it. According to Leslie Orgel , coauthor of the paper : “a purely chemical system, has been created capable of developing a Darwinian evolution”. The tPNA, could be the spine on which could anchor many nucleobases, forming an artificial genetic code.

CODIGO GENETICO ARTIFICIAL
