SNAKE WITH 2 HEADS

En Villingen-Schwenningen (Germany), there is a male ball phyton snake of 1 year old and 300-gram weight. According to Stefan Broghammer expert care, the phyton has 2 heads and 2 spinal cords fused into one back down. In this case, it is accepted that in utero the embryonic division was partial and that the twins were born from a single fertilized egg. Although the 2 heads are active the phyton has no other physical defects. And while eat and digestion occur without problems, if both heads eat at the same time the food could stop in the esophagus, the animal suffocates and may die. In Greek mythology it is described a Hydra-multiple headed serpent which devastated the livestock. Each time he lost a head, it grew another 2. Currently there are 5 two-heads snakes : 3 in USA, one in Germany and one in Sri Lanka. One of the American snakes (called Tom and Jerry), is 12 years old and 3 feet long. Experts say that these mutations do not report any benefit to snakes.
