DRUGS AND IQ

An article published in the "Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health," which followed during 10 years to 8,000 people suggests that intelligent people are more likely to use illicit drugs (cannabis and others). In addition, more intelligent children (110 points and more on the IQ test), use drugs more frequently than teenagers. Home education, economic status or stress does not influence this predisposition, but sex and certain personal characteristics, yes. If someone has at 5-year old a high IQ, is 50% more likely to use ecstasy or amphetamines. It is argued that the reason for this propensity on the part of intelligent children is their natural tendency to seek new personal experiences.

DROGAS   e    IQ
