THE TOMB of LENIN

LENIN AND HUAYNA CAPAC

Recounted Garcilaso de la Vega (chronicler of the conquest of the Inca Empire) that he saw loaded in litters the mummified body of the Inca: Huayna Capac in the main square of Cusco (Peru) and that he only weighed about 6 kilos, as a result of prehispanic techniques of drying body mummification and removing bacteria with fire quickly past over the surface and eviscerated body cavities. The discovery of pre-Columbian mummies (6000 years BC), in the arid Atacama desert endorses the importance of heat as a powerful antiseptic mechanism to preserve dead bodies. The excellent maintenance of the body of Lenin 90 years after his death is novel because he was preserved without using heat or dehydrating techniques to keep the body of the Russian leader in good shape. According to Alexei Yurchak (quoted by the Scientific American), after the death of Lenin, the Center for Scientific Research and Teaching Methods in Biochemical Technologies in Moscow ; Russian scientists (Vladimir Vorobiev, Boris Zbarsky), preserved the physical form of Lenin, his look, shape, weight, color and the flexibility of its members, without necessarily maintaining his original biological matter. Like the Incas, the Russians improved their embalmimg techniques for political purposes. So, before the break (1924) of major arteries, they used microinjections embalmer fluids in cuts and sores and double layer rubber to preserve the body. During public exhibits, covered the body with a thin layer of embalming fluids. The body was immersed each year in solutions containing glycerol, formaldehyde, potassium acetate, alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, acetic acid and sodium acetate. To reverse the discoloration caused by formalin employed cosmetics and dyes. They used artificial eyelashes and skin and returned the nose, face and others, to their original form. The fat was replaced by mixtures of paraffin, glycerine and carotene. They investigated aging and methods for transplanting skin and also developed a test for measuring skin cholesterol. The next step in this item must be the use of stem cells (taken pre mortem) to preserve the stamina of the dead bodies.

LENIN  y  HUAYNA CAPAC

COLD SPOT

SKY  COLD  SPOT

What does mean the  discovery of  huge circular space areas almost empty (hypodense) and  very cold in the  stellar space, like images recently identified by the Hawaii's Pan-STARRS1 (PS1) telescope and the Nasa satellite's Wide Field Survey Explorer (WISE), correlated with thermal data of the cosmic background radiation obtained by the Planck satellite, while astronomers counted  the number of galaxies present in the constellation of Eridanus (southern galactic hemisphere : 1.8 billion light years ?. According to István Szapudi (Institute for Astronomy at the University of Hawaii at Manoa), the finding was theorized due to a missing of some 10,000 galaxies in an extremely cold area (Cold Spot). I) For Roberto Trotta (Imperial College London), the Cold Spot or Cold Spots, due its existence to the accelerated expansion of the universe which caused slowing of light photons when these cross the cold empty. In accelerated expansions everything becomes less dense as the expansion progresses. In these cases, the light entering hypodense areas loses almost all its energy, getting larger wavelengths corresponding to colder temperatures. II) This finding almost confirms the existence of a void pre-existent to the big bang through which is currently expanding our universe, suggesting in turn that our universe is limited. Being the vacuum (continent), larger than our universe, there is a possibility that it can contain other systems or parallel universes (contents), collapsing or expanding.

SUPERVACIOS   ESPACIALES

MASSIVE EMOTIONAL CONTAGION

While in South America is common to watch acts of mass emotional contagion in football stadiums, in certain religious ceremonies and sometimes in political meetings, this  well established contagion is performed only by direct contact between people. Now with a massive experimentin Faceboook ("News Feed"), using texts of 689.003 people, it has been shown that emotional states can be transferred to others without direct personal contact. A method used for sure by Obama, to gain followers, fundraising and the presidency of USA in 2009. The texts expressing lasting states (depression, happiness), were collected from social networks  for  20 years. A positive experience becomes a positive experience for users, lasting several days. The study indicates that emotional reactions are stronger if news is bad. If news only expresses emotions, emotional user state change, will be   proportional to the exposure. As even small effects can generate large aggregate emotional consequences, this knowledge will be useful in political campaigns, sales, public health, etc. Although the method (analysis of  Facebook’s accounts), has received criticism for apparently lack of informed consent, the authors clarify that all users  signed such consent on Facebook's Data Use Policy before creating their  accounts.

CONTAGIO EMOCIONAL MASIVO

DARK MATTER and the LHC

THE   STRUCTURE  OF  DARK  MATTER

In the year 2013, LHC sensors detected a measurement anomaly during decay of rare particles (penguin processes), which persist to this day. Although these abnormalities are still not statistically significant (level: 3.7 sigma), if they persist when the energy of LHC (May 2015) will be doubled, these could represent new elementary particles beyond the Standard Model, able to create a new physical and clarify fundamental nature questions. A level 5. Sigma is required to consider them real. According to John Ellis, these foreign particles: a) were predicted by supersymmetry (for each known particle there exist another with identical internal properties, but with a different angular momentum). As speculated, would have up to 5 Higgs bosons-like, from which the lighter would be one of the constituents of the dark matter, the most abundant in the universe. Studies of Higgs boson and its likes will be performed in the renovated LHC. b) During decay of penguin processes, ghost particles are formed, different from those identified in the Standard Model. Such particles could be: a) leptons, with desusual combinations of energy and direction (Z bosons, leptoquarks). An interesting aspect of the experiments to be performed at the LHC, is that they could lead to confirmation of fluctuations (fine tuning), of the structure of space-time, which perhaps at very high energies and very small distances would make disappears the concept of space-time. In other words, a universe with characteristics of a living being.

FUTURISTIC MEDICINE

PERSONALIZED VACCINES

As we postulated before,  future medicine will have 5 pillars: 1) will be personalised 2) to send medicines, several nanotechnological devices will be employed 3) body rejuvenation and maintenance will be performed cyclically, using stem cells,) 4) cancer prevention will be held through vaccines and genetic engineering 5) The body's immune system will be repowered with serial walls of genetically modified antibodies. Although costly, personalised medicine is gaining ground every day. One pillar of personalised medicine will be the increased use of natural medicines -not referring to use of herbs, based on trial and error- but to the copying of protective molecules and proteins produced by the patient himself when attacked by infections, infestations, cancers, multiplied hundreds of times by technology and subsequently applied to the patient. Our body is capable of producing the best medicines against any noxa, although in minimal amounts. The issue is to multiply them. I) Examples of such developments are the  employment since 3 years ago of T cell car cells specifically engineered to exterminate blasts from patients with acute leukemia producing better results  than conventional standard chemotherapy, not to mention fewer side effects, less time hospitalization etc. II) In the same vein is the growing use of personalised vaccines against different types of cancer (melanoma, lung, bladder, colorectal). Personalised  vaccines produce waves of killer T cells that destroy tumors identified by their neo-antigens (expressions of cancerous mutations). Vaccines do not cause side effects, produce durable regressions and in some cases have completely eradicated the tumors. An advance in vaccines has been to improve the physical contact between cancer cells and specific T cells, inducing the phenomenon of immune privilege (immunogenic tissue: protected from immune attack). Another development is the use of adoptive cell therapy of immune cells (reactive genetically modified lymphocytes), with potent anticancer activity in cases of melanoma (complete regression). It now aims to advance knowledge of regulatory pathways of T cells

VACUNAS  PERSONALIZADAS

ALIEN NERVOUS SYSTEM

-From Nature
ALIEN  NERVOUS SYSTEM

The demonstration -via electron microscopy and a-tubulin tyrosinated immunolabelling- of an ancestral nervous system in Pleurobrachia bachei (Ctenophora, Pacific sea gooseberry, comb jelly), different: -they employed glutamate as neurotrasmisor- relatively complex genomes, dissimilar from their peers (sponges, etc.), possibly to fit   movements of its tentacles and the rhythmic beat of their iridescent cilia, has allowed Leonid Moroz (Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience. St. Augustine, Fla.), hypothesize the following:  I- (Pre-bilaterian) ancient nervous systems, precursors of modern bilaterian nervous systems (butterflies, human) were first conceived in Ctenophora species: transparent marine organisms, morphologically similar to jellyfish, inhabitants  of oceans since 540 million years ago. II-While bilaterian animals (butterflies, human), used serotonin, dopamine and acetylcholine as  neurotransmitters and possess a genome different from Ctenophora, this fact implies the existence of at least two nervous systems (convergent evolution), in animal scale, one developed in ancient Ctenophora and another in the first bilaterian animals. III- The absence of nervous systems in sponges and the presence of it in jellyfish, suggests that nervous systems may be lost or reconstituted, according to circumstances. Apart from questioning the origins of the brain, Moroz’s  hypothesis  opens the door to design artificial genomes containing simple nervous systems for  application in robotics (bio-robotics) and in humans, through the generation of neurons assembled (type : Ctenophora) by alternate routes that could  cure or mitigate  certain neurological  diseases.

SISTEMAS   NERVIOSOS    EXTRATERRESTRES

PAIN AND THE BRAIN

THEORY of PAIN: PROVED

European  researchers from Swiss  technological institutes and universities from  Zurich, Munich and  Wurzburg, led by Edmund Foster, used a transgenic mice line carrying a bacterial artificial chromosome   expressing selectively  a Cre recombinase in glycinergic neurons, to selectively identify glycinergic neurons (generators of inhibitory stimuli),  activating them, inhibiting them, showing their interconnections, monitoring them, silencing them with tetanus toxin in 3 lumbar segments or killing them  using neurotropic virus carriers of diphtheria toxin fractions  capable of performing specific ablations in areas of dorsal horn spinal cord, inducing heat, cold, hyperalgesia; itching and aversive behavior. Restoration of the activity of glycinergic neurons, via local pharmacological induction, diminished hyperalgesia and itching, showing that glycinergic neurons are key element to inhibit pain and pruritus circuits. I) These results support the firstthesis of Ronald Melzack and Patrick Wall, who 50 years ago proposed a theory about pain control (Gate Control Theory of pain), suggesting the existence of inhibitory neurons in the dorsal horn of the spinal cord capable of exercising control over critical nociceptive signals, in road to higher brain areas, discarding the existence of specific nerve fibers (unchecked), conductive of painful sensations to the brain. II) The second theory of Melzack (1995) -equivalent to the physical theory of everything-  pending of  demonstration corresponds to a totalizing vision of the processing of internal and external somatic pain, by the brain (Pain and the neuromatrix in the brain). According  to  this, each person would have  patterns of nerve impulses generated by a widely distributed neural network (body-self neuromatrix) controlled by the brain, rather than by sensory afferent neural impulses. According to this, any perceptual dysfunction: homeostatic, behavioral, pathological or induced stress would activate a wide neurological and non-neurological network of processing and response. Such genetically determined neuromatrix could be modified by sensory experience. At its maturity, Melzack (sure candidate for the Nobel Prize), emphasized that sensory impulses of pain, are just one of converging parts in the brain. Two evidences supports the neuromatrix :  the perception of phantom limb and the out of body experience.

2 evidencias sostienen la  neuromatrix, la percepción del miembro fantasma y  the out of body experience.
